ABOUT HIGH COUNTRY SOCCER
The High Country Soccer Association is a 501c3 nonprofit organization affiliated with the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA). The HCSA was founded in 1986 and focuses on serving the growth and development of youth and adult soccer in the High Country. We serve the youth player through programming at the recreational, academy, challenge, and classic levels. We serve the adult player through league and tournament offerings. Our adult programs are conducted as fundraisers in support of our youth programs. We also offer summer camps, winter indoor training, and youth tournaments which support the growth and development of youth soccer in the High Country and lend financial support to our organization. We draw players from an ever growing region, including Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Caldwell, Watauga, Wilkes and Yancey counties in North Carolina as well as the states of Tennessee and Virginia.
HCSA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and managed and operated by a Director of Coaching, a Director of Operations, and an Office Manager. The Board of Directors is composed of parent volunteers who each bring unique skill sets to the government and oversight of the club. The Director of Coaching designs the club’s philosophy, and oversees the coaching staff and development of players and teams. The Director of Operations oversees aspects of the club related to revenue streams necessary for the club’s operation. The Office Manager serves as the club’s head registrar and bookkeeper of the day-to-day finances.
