Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex

Constructed in 2008, the Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex consists of two MaxPlay Field Turf fields with lights and scoreboards. A joint project between High Country Soccer, Watauga County and Appalachian State University, the TMSC provides year round play without the usual field closures due to rain. Both fields are a full 110 yards by 80 yards. Each field can be divided into two fields for 8v8 play or 4 fields for 6v6 play.

The stadium field, home to Appalachian State men's and women's soccer programs, has a 1,000 seat bleacher section with press boxes. Both fields are used for home games for High Country Soccer Association.

Completed in 2010 is the Field House which contains locker rooms for the ASU Soccer programs, a concession area and public restrooms.

Directions from Wilkesboro:

Take 421 North to Boone. Go past University Nissan (on left) approximately 1/4 to 1/3 mile. Turn right onto Brookshire Road just over bridge. Turn right after the park to stay on Brookshire Road.

Directions from Asheville:

Take I-40 To Marion, Take Hwy 221 from Marion to Linville, Turn left at light in Linville onto Hwy 105. Follow Hwy 105 through Boone to Hwy 421. Turn right on Hwy 421 (east towards Wilkesboro). Approximately 1.5 miles turn left onto Brookshire Road. Turn right after the park to stay on Brookshire Road.

Directions from Charlotte/Gastonia:

Take US 321 to Boone. In Boone, turn right onto Hwy 105 Extension. Turn right onto Hwy 421 (east towards Wilkesboro). Approximately 1.5 miles turn left onto Brookshire Road. Turn right after the park to stay on Brookshire Road.
